Life can get crazy often. Keeping memories alive is important in the chaos. Capturing an emotion or spirit, freezing a moment to keep forever. This concept is what sparked an interest for me to pursue drawing at a young age. I recreated images so that I could feel the story they were conveying when I looked at them. A reflection of the past, present and future. I was passionate about it, but as I grew older life took me in a different direction.
Growing up, as one of five siblings, our summers were spent at the beach. The sights, smells, sounds…I am immediately transported back to a time when I was carefree and nothing could bring me down. These memories are still so vivid in my mind today. Sun-kissed skin, toes sinking into the soft, warm sand at the beach and tasting the salt in the air as I rush towards the water. Nights spent playing in the yard, racing full speed around the bases while hearing the neighborhood kids cheer during a game of kickball. As a kid, there was nothing better.
I met my love, Mark, a little over 10 years ago. He has always been incredibly supportive, and my #1 fan. We have two adorable boys, Mark Jr. and Nikolas, and they are the center of our world. They are full of life, with huge personalities, and keep us busy every day. We love every second of it! When Mark Jr. was born, Mark surprised me with a new camera. I was drawn to it immediately, as it reminded me of my passion for art.
Through life in a frame, I’m able to see my children’s smile, the joy in their eyes, and every ounce of laughter they share as they grow and learn about this world together. When our family and friends find time to celebrate with each other, my camera is never far from my side. I enjoy capturing everything from quiet moments that seemingly go unnoticed to absolute joy and emotion between us. Capturing those feelings and transforming the memories into something you can share with others is an art.
Though my method of art has changed my passion for capturing all that life has gifted me has not.
